A task of the time...

A task of the time...

With all the blessings of technology such as access to information and entertainment, and the ability to stay connected and informed, these blessings can equally be challenges.

All this access to information makes it easier for us to see how much there is to do; so many causes and so many places that can stretch, harden, and break the heart. If you are anything like me, it can be a little overwhelming at times. Our ancestors did not have access to this much information. Should we? Or is a part of our evolution as a species for us to be able to face the questions we face today and take on the tasks in front of us?

Savor the Spaciousness

Savor the Spaciousness

Summer can be a time of living life to the fullest. This may look like more vacations, more social gatherings, and more adventures. But “the fullest” doesn’t only go in one direction. As the long summer sunlight shines longer upon us it can reveal those things that were maybe easier to tuck into the shadows before. As we begin to feel we are reminded that living life to the fullest not only includes joy, happiness, and adventure but it also includes sadness, uncertainty, and grief for the loss of old ways of being.

When we open ourselves to feel one emotion we open ourselves to feel all emotions. Maybe this is really what living fully is all about.

Witness Your Cycles

Witness Your Cycles

When we lack energy, inspiration, or motivation it can be easy to feel like we may get stuck there. But it is important to remember that mood, energy, and inspiration fluctuate.

As for me, this is not the first time I’ve lacked inspiration and been a little blocked in my writing. Past experience shows me that I will be inspired again. Maybe the energy is needed elsewhere at this time. Instead of struggling, this is an opportunity to witness my cycles and to honor myself where ever I am.

Intentions are like seeds...

Intentions are like seeds...

Similar to the earth, we have seasons where our impulse is to grow; through the cracks, against the odds, changing the landscape of the world around us. Seasons where we have something inside of us that just needs to come out, to be experienced and to be expressed. Seasons where it seems the growth is going to happen whether we pay attention to it or even want it to.

When the force of nature around and within us is this potent, how can we participate in the creation? We do so by choosing which seeds we plant and which intentions we set.

Remembering What's True

Remembering What's True

There are times where you may forget your strengths or the lessons you’ve learned along the way. You may forget the wisdom you have collected and have moments where you feel like you have done no personal growth work, or even moments where you feel like you have regressed. This could show up in relationships, in your meditation practice, in your yoga practice, in your job, or somewhere else in your life.

You might be someone who handles these moments with grace or maybe (like many of us) you find them a bit disheartening or even frustrating. Either way, consider them a gift.
