Forgiving (not Forgetting) Workshop

Wisdom teacher Ellen Robinson-Haynes and yoga teacher Wencke Roed will offer an afternoon of mind-body practices to open and soften the heart around the places we get stuck in our relationships with both the loved and the unloved ones with whom we share the planet.

Working with forgiving as verb not noun, we will explore forgiveness as an act of compassion for ourselves as well as our troubled world that grows out of a larger sense of our selves than the part of us that is caught in hurt, anger, fear and retribution.

Think of this workshop as a check-in with your dreams and a seasonal practice designed to help you build and sustain a life of intention. What are the next steps you can take to feel the way you want to feel? Desires are the seeds of purpose, and when you nurture and honor them, they can bear the most magnificent fruit. Holly will guide you through gentle movement and writing exercises to help you turn the spark of feeling into active dreaming. By the end of the session, you will have created clear, meaningful intentions to support this season of your life. This workshop may be taken individually or as part of the whole series.

Yoga for Cranky Hips

This alignment-based class is a slow, methodical and safe way of working the legs to create space in and around the hip sockets. Leslie addresses how to use yoga poses and yoga props to increase space, flexibility and strength in the hips. You will find familiar yoga poses using props and done with a focus on the relationship between the legs and pelvis. This way of practicing can help alleviate aches and pains in and around the head of the femur.

Yoga and The Pelvic Floor: A workshop for women*

This workshop we will locate, assess, soften, stretch, strengthen and exercise the muscle groups of the pelvic floor, discuss mula bandha, abdominal health and how to utilize the pelvic floor in asana. Proper strengthening and stabilizing of the pelvic floor helps to create the correct foundation of each movement in the body.

Learn a series of specific exercises and asanas for the pelvic floor will follow. Handouts will be provided. Bring your friends, sisters, mothers and daughters. Although helpful, no yoga experience is required. This workshop qualifies for continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance.
